Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a delivery driver to operate curtain-side and box trailers across the UK from The Range, Stowmarket. Expect a typical schedule with 1–3 drops per shift, focused on safety, load security and excellent customer service.

You will hold a UK Class 1 CE licence, Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, with ongoing training and potential overtime at enhanced weekend rates. Earn potential is boosted by shifts starting late and Bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take to the road in curtain-side and box trailers to deliver goods to retail stores across the UK.
• Maintain typically 1–3 drops per shift, ensuring timely deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Secure loads safely with industry-standard restraint equipment and complete tail lift deliveries.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks using company phone to maintain vehicle safety and reliability.
• Keep in regular contact with transport office for delivery progress and changes in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at delivery points and build relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and updates on industry regulations to stay compliant.

Shift: Monday - Friday, start times between 15:00hrs - 18:00hrs

Fantastic Earning Potential

Earn £17.50 per hour (£48,230 per annum) based on a 48-hour working week, plus an additional £17.50 per shift for starts between 12:00hrs and 02:00hrs*. Boost your earnings with additional shifts and enhanced rates for weekends, Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

About The Role

• Take to the road in curtain-side and box trailers, including both single and double deck trailers, to deliver goods to retail stores throughout the UK.
• Enjoy a manageable delivery schedule with typically 1 to 3 drops per shift, keeping deliveries on schedule and customers satisfied.
• Ensure every load is secured safely and compliantly using industry-approved restraint equipment.
• Complete tail lift deliveries with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail, commercial or customer sites is advantageous, although full training can be provided.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and build positive relationships with customers.
• Be capable of working to planned schedules and delivery deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
• Bring a positive, reliable and team-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently when required.
• Have good geographical awareness and the ability to navigate routes efficiently across the UK.
