Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Leicester is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our Dunelm site team. You will deliver goods safely and on time, comply with drivers hours rules, and complete routine vehicle checks as part of a busy distribution operation.

The role requires a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, plus ideally 12 months driving experience. We offer a permanent full-time contract, on-site facilities, and a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 Licence (C+E) with Driver CPC and Tachograph card.
• Ideally 12 months recent driving experience.
• Polite, friendly with a can-do attitude; double deck exp. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and efficiently following regulations and hours rules.
• Complete routine vehicle checks and basic manual handling.
• Deliver 1–3 store deliveries to rear of stores using tail lift.
• Collect Salvage to return to site and support longer runs when required.

Pay Rate: £44,177.81 + Any Shift Premium

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: Monday-Friday start times between 01.00-07.00

Location: Dunelm, Leicester, LE19 1WY

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers\' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• Manual handling of customer products
• 1-3 store deliveries delivering to the rear of the store using a tail lift and electric pump truck.
• Collecting Salvage to return to site
• Nighting out on some of the longer runs

this Role Would Suit People Who

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Are polite and friendly and have a can do attitude
• Double Deck experience is desirable
• Are confident manoeuvering in a tight yard
