Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Stoke-on-Trent (Dunelm site) is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to ensure efficient, safe deliveries and on-time operations. You will drive in line with Drivers' Hours and the Highway Code, perform vehicle checks, and complete store deliveries using a tail lift and pump truck with some manual handling.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E), Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, with ideally 12 months driving experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Digital tachograph card must be held.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and efficiently in line with Drivers' Hours and WTD.
• Follow health and safety standards and Highway Code.
• Carry out regular vehicle checks and reporting.
• Make 1–3 store deliveries using tail lift and pump truck, with some manual handling.

Pay Rate: £44,177.81 (£17.69 PH) +shift premiums any hours worked between 10pm and 6am (£21.23 PH) any hours worked between 4pm and 10pm (£19.46 PH)
Grade: P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time and part time)
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday start times between 01.00-03.00
Location: Dunelm, Stoke On Trent ST4 4FA

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• 1-3 store deliveries delivering to the rear of the store using a tail lift and electric pump truck with some manual handling required.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Are polite and friendly and have a can do attitude
• Double Deck experience is desirable
• Are confident manoeuvering in a tight yard
• Enjoy driving the latest vehicle models.
