Deutsche Post DHL is hiring a Class 1 HGV Driver to support DHL Supply Chain operations in Leicester. The role involves safe driving, deliveries to stores, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E) with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are required.
• 12 months driving experience is preferred.
• Polite, friendly and can-do attitude expected.
• Double Deck experience is desirable.
• Confident manoeuvring in tight yards; experience with yards is helpful.
• Enjoy driving the latest vehicle models.

Responsibilities

• Drive in a safe, compliant manner according to Drivers' Hours rules.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and The Highway Code.
• Carry out regular vehicle checks as part of duties.
• Deliver 1–3 store deliveries to rear of store using tail lift and electric pump truck.

Pay Rate: £44,177.81 (£17.69 PH) +shift premiums any hours worked between 10pm and 6am (£21.23 PH) any hours worked between 4pm and 10pm (£19.46 PH)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time and part time)
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday start times between 01.00-07.00

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• 1-3 store deliveries delivering to the rear of the store using a tail lift and electric pump truck with some manual handling required.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Are polite and friendly and have a can do attitude
• Double Deck experience is desirable
• Are confident manoeuvering in a tight yard
• Enjoy driving the latest vehicle models.
