Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is recruiting a Class 1 Night Driver to join our Coalville network. You will operate a curtain‑side trailer, trunk palletised freight, and perform daily safety checks while delivering reliable service across our network.

Shift is Monday to Friday nights with an opportunity for overtime and ongoing training. A competitive salary (£43,511–£44,941) and a generous benefits package are on offer, along with a welcome referral incentive.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Able to work to deadlines and provide excellent customer service.
• Team player with good geographical knowledge and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain-side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Verify freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Maintain safety checks and secure loads with straps, nets and other securing equipment.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks via company mobile device.
• Maintain regular communication with the Transport Team and support customer service.
• Attend ongoing training and development sessions.

About The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in the smooth, efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a curtain‑side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Providing internal trunking support where required, including accurately verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Taking advantage of opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST (Longer Semi-Trailer) during your employment.
• Ensuring all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks via your company mobile device to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
• Maintaining regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and helping ensure excellent customer service.
• Attending ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
