Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver to move palletised freight across our network from Coalville. You will operate curtain-side trailers, verify freight against manifests, and stay compliant with safety standards through daily checks and training.

The role offers dependable overtime, training opportunities (DCPC), and a competitive salary (£42,736 - £44,166) depending on hours worked. Applicants must have UK work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain-side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Provide internal trunking support and verify freight against manifest at each depot stop.
• Take opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST during employment.
• Ensure all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected with straps and nets.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks via company mobile device.
• Maintain regular communication with the Transport Team and aid customer service.
• Attend ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in the smooth, efficient movement of palletised freight across our network. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a curtain‑side trailer to trunk palletised goods.
• Providing internal trunking support where required, including accurately verifying freight against the manifest at each depot stop.
• Taking advantage of opportunities to gain additional certifications, including LST (Longer Semi-Trailer) during your employment.
• Ensuring all goods are safely loaded, secured, and protected, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks via your company mobile device to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability.
• Maintaining regular communication with the Transport Team, keeping them updated on progress and helping ensure excellent customer service.
• Attending ongoing training and development sessions to stay up to date with industry standards and best practice.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
