Job summary

Pro Insurance seeks a Claims Handler to join our Legacy Claims Team, processing EL/PL disease claims and NIHL cases. The role combines home-based work with weekly travel to a local ELPL hub in Glasgow, Liverpool or Horsham as needed.

You will manage diaries, liaise with solicitors and brokers, and provide technical guidance while upholding SLAs, auditing records and supporting strategic client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in NIHL is essential.
• Technical background in EL/PL claims preferable but not essential; training provided.
• Experience in other claims is advantageous.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills are required.
• Adaptable to change and able to work to SLAs with accuracy.
• Strong relationship-building skills and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of EL/PL disease claims, including NIHL cases.
• Manage diaries and post within agreed SLAs.
• Liaise with solicitors and brokers and develop client relationships.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to external clients.
• Oversee PLF in litigated claims to ensure sound strategy.
• Support the team and contribute to sub-vertical projects.
• Represent Pro Insurance professionally to peers and marketplace contacts.

Pro Insurance currently has a new opportunity for a Claims Handler to join our Legacy Claims Team, processing claims in supporting an existing client.

Pro operates a hybrid working model and the majority of this role will be working from home with travel to a local ELPL hub in Glasgow, Liverpool or Horsham on a weekly basis and other locations when required.

Purpose of Role & Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Claims Manager,the Claims Technician will handle a caseload Employers Liability ("EL")/Public Liability ("PL") disease claims, to include, but not limited to, the following
• NIHL
• HAVS
• Managing all diaries and post within the agreed SLAs
• Liaising with solicitors and brokers
• Developing effective business relationships internally and externally
• Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes
• Identifying potential fraud
• Proactively support the team in their achievements and overall business objectives
• Provide technical advice and guidance to external clients
• Oversight of PLF in respect of any litigated claims to ensure the case strategy is appropriate
• Contribute to projects relevant to the sub vertical
• Strengthen Client Relationships
• Represent Pro in a Professional manner to both peer and potential marketplace acquaintances

Skills and Experience

• Experience in NIHL is essential
• Technical background relating to EL/PL claims is preferable however not essential. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate
• Experience in other claims is a distinct advantage
• Effective communication skills and key stakeholder relationship management skills
• Adaptable to change
• Strong relationship building skills and a professional and approachable manner
• Ability to work towards SLAs with accuracy
