The British Pullman, a Belmond Train, seeks a Chief Steward to lead the onboard team with grace, style and charisma, delivering exceptional standards across food & beverage, housekeeping and guest satisfaction.

You will coordinate with kitchen and other departments, greet guests on arrival, capture dietary needs, and oversee train set-up and inventory. Join a legacy of luxury and help guests create unforgettable journeys.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar luxury hospitality role.
• Relevant management or field/industry diploma or degree.
• Excellent leadership and team motivation skills.
• Strong customer service and problem resolution experience.
• Good knowledge of food and wine.

Responsabilités

• Ensure guest spaces, lounge and train are set per function sheets.
• Maintain clear communication with the kitchen and other departments.
• Welcome guests on arrival and capture full details, including dietary needs.
• Set/reset carriages and keep the train in a presentable condition.
• Engage with guests, especially VIPs and return guests, to exceed expectations.
• Manage inventory stock levels and maintain PAR levels.

As a Chief Steward at British Pullman, a Belmond Train, you are part of a team responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional service standards in all areas of food and beverage, housekeeping, guest satisfaction and team welfare. In this role, you will lead the onboard team with grace, style and charisma to create an outstanding guest experience. Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring all guest spaces, lounge and train, are set in accordance with the information supplied on function sheets.
• Maintaining a clear channel of communication with the kitchen and all other departments.
• Ensuring that all guests are met on arrival and that their full details are obtained, including dietary needs and special occasions.
• Ensuring that all carriages are set/reset when required and possible, and that the train is left in a presentable condition at all times.
• Connecting and building rapport with guests at every possible opportunity, especially meeting and greeting VIPs and regular guests and going the extra mile for return guests.
• Managing all inventory stock levels relating to the daily operations, ensuring appropriate PAR levels are maintained.

Requirements

What You Bring:

• Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK.
• 1-2 years’ experience within a similar role, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry.
• Relevant management or field/industry related diploma or degree.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate others.
• Customer service skills and experience in resolving customer issues/complaints.
• Good knowledge and understanding of food and wine.
