Patchstack is seeking an experienced Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), with strong experience in B2B SaaS marketing to lead us through our next stage of growth. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cybersecurity. Patchstack is on a mission to make open source software, especially websites, more secure. Our work bridges the gap between the security research community, software vendors, and web hosting companies to prevent the next generation of cyber threats.

The Opportunity

As our CMO, you'll lead our global marketing efforts, building and executing on an enterprise-level marketing strategy that includes strategic marketing partnerships, brand positioning, growth strategy, and performance marketing. Patchstack is a Series A startup: you will help us to expand our current customer base and reach new markets, increasing awareness of our brand and growing our revenue in preparation for Series B funding. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with Product and Sales, you'll shape how the world sees Patchstack and how we scale sustainably.

You will:

  • Define and lead our marketing strategy across all channels and functions (demand gen, content, product marketing, comms, community, and brand)
  • Drive B2B revenue growth through strategic positioning and go-to-market plans
  • Represent marketing at the executive level and report on progress and insights to the board
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, cultivating a culture of experimentation, learning, and accountability
  • Use data to measure effectiveness, optimize for results, and inform business decisions
  • Champion Patchstack's mission in the broader cybersecurity and open-source ecosystems

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role
  • The ideal candidate will have experience post series-A funding and will have participated in funding rounds
  • Demonstrated success in B2B SaaS marketing, ideally in cybersecurity or technical products
  • Proven ability to create and execute pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies
  • Strong understanding of the open source ecosystem; bonus points for experience in open source security
  • Excellent analytical skills; highly data-driven and outcome-oriented
  • A hands-on leader with experience scaling remote marketing teams
  • Executive presence with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
