We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Chief Executive Assistant to join our client’s children’s charity based in Keele. A full job specification will be provided on application.

About the charity

Our client is a national charity working to transform the lives of disabled children and their families, enabling them to challenge the barriers they face throughout childhood by providing practical and emotional support. They provide a state‑of‑the‑art base for the Charity’s therapies and an environment where ground‑breaking research can be undertaken, potentially changing the way some disabilities are treated, affecting millions of people around the world.

About the role

This is broadly an administrative support role but will include attendance at internal and external meetings, presentations and research and required the candidate to be confidential, with the ability to communicate exceptionally well both written and verbal in a wide variety of situations.

The role of Chief Executive Assistant is a permanent post where duties will include :

  • Assisting the Chief Executive Office with the planning, research, administration and delivery of several key development projects currently underway
  • Supporting the development of key projects and members of the team as the CEO projects require to support the charity’s needs
  • Project delivery which often requires domestic travel and out‑of‑office hours meetings / events so you have to be flexible to accommodate this, within reason.
About the responsibilities
As Chief Executive Assistant, you will :
  • Supporting the Chief Executive Office projects on the administration internal & external meetings (agendas, minutes / actions, meeting & greeting, refreshments, set up of meeting rooms)
  • Developing the plans, managing the actions and timescales where applicable. E.g. Stakeholder engagement, workshops, speakers, EDI development with corporate events and workshop presentations and logistics, administration
  • Conducting desk and telephone research, reporting findings
  • Compiling documents in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Monitoring topic related news / social media.
  • Monitoring and responding to general campaign enquiries
  • Attending public meetings (APPGs etc) and reporting pertinent information / actions
  • Co‑ordinating data / statistics for speeches or projects
  • Support the development of the operations, services, fundraising and communication departments with the CEO team
  • Support the development of the Big Bang, 2023 comms plan, implementation and internal communications
  • Support the growth and future structuring required to help more children and families
  • Be prepared to be on the lookout for new exciting ideas, or to make suggestion to add value to conversations around any of the projects to support their them
About you

To be successful for the role of Chief Executive Assistant, you will have / be :

  • Excellent team‑working, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Information technology skills, Excel including database development, Word including composing business letters, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM systems etc

About the rewards

In the role of Chief Executive Assistant, you will work 37.5 hours per week and there is a salary on offer of £22,000 to £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The Charity is committed to safeguarding children and young people and therefore adopts a safer recruitment approach through a robust recruitment and selection process. All posts within the Charity are subject to DBS checks, in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974). This role is eligible for an Enhanced with barred lists DBS check.
