CityJobs.com is recruiting a Chef de Partie for Topsham, Exeter, in a busy pub restaurant. The role is full-time with a salary of £30,000-£34,000 per annum.

You will work within a dedicated culinary team, preparing and cooking high-quality dishes and ensuring your section operates smoothly. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, contribute to menu development, uphold food safety standards, and train junior staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation within a professional kitchen environment.
• Previous restaurant experience with knowledge of a variety of cooking techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Passion for culinary excellence and high standards of food presentation.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• This is not a live-in position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu specifications and quality standards
• Oversee the daily operations of your designated kitchen section
• Assist with the development of new recipes and menu items by contributing creative ideas
• Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to deliver efficient service during busy periods
• Monitor stock levels and support inventory management to help minimise waste
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained correctly and report any issues promptly
• Support the training and development of junior team members
