Job summary

North East Surrey College of Technology seeks a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support practical classes and restaurant service at the Ewell campus. You will prepare ingredients, manage stock, and help maintain hygiene and safety standards in a busy college kitchen.

The role involves assisting with events and curriculum activities, with a 4-day pattern (Mon Tue Thu Fri) and term-time scheduling (36 weeks). This position is employed through Nescot Enterprises Ltd.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a professional catering, hospitality or commercial kitchen environment.
• Can organise workloads effectively and work independently.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
• Promote high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, resources and equipment for practical classes and demonstrations
• Support teaching staff during practical lessons and restaurant service
• Manage deliveries, stock control and store food and consumables
• Maintain professional kitchen and restaurant facilities
• Promote high standards of food hygiene, health and safety and housekeeping
• Support learners in developing professional behaviours and industry expectations
• Assist with events, open evenings and curriculum activities
