Nescot is seeking a part-time role for a practical catering environment, term-time only (36 weeks per year). The post requires experience in professional catering or kitchen settings, a Level 2 Food Safety qualification, and the ability to work with teaching staff during practical sessions and restaurant service.
The role involves managing deliveries and stock, maintaining kitchen and restaurant facilities, and supporting learners in developing professional behaviours.
Your work pattern will be 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) but you must be available for occasional flexibility to cover evening restaurant sessions and events between 8am-8pm. This is a term time only position working 36 weeks per year.
Nescot is graded 'Good' by Ofstedfollowing its latest inspection in January 2023. Inspectors rated the College as Good in all 8 aspects. The report recognises that students "enjoy" their courses and are motivated to succeed, and benefit from "highly supportive relationships" with staff. Safeguarding arrangements are "effective" with regular training for staff, and leaders have in place "an effective policy for safer recruitment."
