Job summary

South Staffordshire College is seeking a dedicated Catering Technician on a part-time basis to support the catering department and provide a safe learning environment for learners and staff. The role requires a relevant catering qualification, food hygiene knowledge, and prior vocational experience.

You will maintain equipment, manage stock, deliver training to groups, and participate in college events. The post requires safeguarding compliance and eligibility for an enhanced DBS check in line

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar vocational role.
• Relevant level 2 or above qualification in catering.
• Food hygiene qualification.
• Knowledge of IT systems and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
• Prepare and develop equipment and materials for student and lecturer use.
• Control stock and consumables to optimize resources and reduce waste.
• Deliver training to small groups and individuals to support their learning objectives.
• Participate in College events such as open days and recruitment activities.
