Job summary

Mitie is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant at Burton upon Trent to deliver high standards of service while following cleaning schedules and SLA agreements. The role is based at B&Q, Burton Road, and offers a 30-hour week with a Sunday to Thursday night shift (9pm–3:45am).

You'll prepare dining areas, serve food, maintain cleanliness, and work with colleagues to provide excellent customer service. Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety training are provided if not already held.

Qualifications

• Catering experience in a similar environment is desirable.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
