Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Catering Supervisor for a part-time position at B&Q, Burton upon Trent. You will oversee the catering team during service, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and team performance. The role includes supervising staff, training, stock control and ensuring safety compliance.

Hours are 30 per week, 8am–2pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for earlier starts or later finishes as business needs dictate. Rate £13.49 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory and kitchen roles.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2/3 preferred).
• Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support staff during service.
• Prepare and cook a variety of meals in line with menus and dietary requirements whilst the cook is on leave.
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Train and guide junior team members where required.
• Ensure timely service to customers or service areas.
• Cover in the catering managers absence, place orders, cash reconciliation & stock take.
