A leading recruitment agency is supporting Newcastle College in finding an experienced Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer. The Supply Register is pleased to be supporting Newcastle College in hiring an experienced and inspiring Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join their Construction department on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to share your trade expertise and support learners as they develop practical, industry-ready skills.

About the Role

As a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons across a range of Carpentry & Joinery programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Ensure the workshop environment is maintained to a high standard with strong health & safety compliance.
  • Provide support, guidance, and feedback to help learners progress and achieve their qualifications.
  • Work closely with the wider Construction team to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
Qualifications
  • Strong carpentry and joinery trade experience (essential).
  • Teaching experience within FE or post-16 settings is desirable but not essential.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) OR willingness to work toward.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to motivate learners of all abilities.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain.
