Job summary

A private household is seeking a Carer/Support Worker to provide essential support to a sociable 16-year-old girl with ADHD, ASD, and learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will be friendly, empathetic, and patient, able to assist with daily activities and community engagement. This part-time role offers 6 hours per week during term time, increasing to 12 hours during school holidays, at a rate of £12.75 per hour. A DBS check is mandatory, and a full right to work in the UK is required.

About the role

To provide support to a friendly sociable 16-year-old girl with ADHD, ASD and learning difficulties. I am chatty, friendly, have a great sense of humour and always smiling.

I enjoy being out and about, going to the park, the cinema, shopping, doing art and crafts. I love sport, playing football, basketball, running, swimming and likes being active.

I am fully mobile and verbal but immature for my age mentally due to my learning difficulties.

I require constant supervision, prompts, direction and often need things explaining more than once if I do not understand.

  • 6 hours per week term time
  • 12 hours per week school holidays
  • £12.75 per hour

Support in the community, encouraging independence.

Support to access the wider community and participate in identified social activities.

Support to identify alternative activities I may enjoy.

Requires constant supervision as sometimes struggles crossing roads safely. I can do this with support and direction.

I can be quite vulnerable and will talk to strangers.

The role will require supervision, support and help understanding that this is not always safe when out and about. You must be friendly, caring, empathetic, patient, enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and a positive outlook.

Able to discuss and plan outings with me whether going to the park, beach, shopping, swimming etc.

Experience of supporting people with additional needs in a formal or informal role would be desirable. Good communication skills and the ability to be punctual and reliable.

Full driving licence if possible but not essential.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
