Job summary

St Philips Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Belmont Care Centre to support day-to-day maintenance, grounds upkeep, and safety compliance in a busy residential home. You will work under the Care Centre Manager to ensure the building and services run smoothly and safely.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, ability to manage contractors, and a proactive approach to energy use and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• An understanding of heating systems.
• A basic understanding of electrical appliances.
• An ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the home.
• Supervise outside contractors
• Minimise costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• Upkeep all health and safety records and the periodic testing of appliances and functional items within the home.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home
