Job summary

St Philip's Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to assist in the day-to-day running of a busy care home. You will carry out general maintenance, ensure the home remains in good decorative order, and supervise external contractors to keep the property in a safe and functional state.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a flexible approach to work.
• Candidates should be able to prioritise workload.
• Able to perform high quality DIY including interior and exterior decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• Understanding of heating systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical appliances.
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance throughout the home as required.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Keep external areas tidy and well maintained for smart appearance.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Monitor energy consumption and maintain written records to minimize costs.
• Maintain health and safety records and perform periodic testing of appliances and items.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home.
