Job summary

St Philip's Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Whim Hall Care Centre to support day-to-day maintenance of the building, services, and grounds. Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient, and functional operation of the home.

The role requires a flexible approach, ability to prioritise workload, strong DIY skills, and good communication with external agencies. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
• An understanding of heating systems.
• A basic understanding of electrical appliances.
• An ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Keep external areas and grounds tidy and well maintained.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Minimise costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining written records.
• Upkeep health and safety records and testing of appliances and items in the home.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home.
