St Philips Care Group in Jersey is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Highlands Care Centre. You will perform day-to-day maintenance, keep the home well presented, and manage grounds to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment.

The role requires practical DIY skills, flexibility, and the ability to liaise with external agencies. Training and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work
• Ability to prioritise workload
• High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies
• Understanding of heating systems
• Understanding of electrical appliances
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times
• Keep external areas and grounds tidy and well maintained
• Supervise outside contractors
• Minimise costs by monitoring energy consumption and maintaining records
• Upkeep health and safety records and periodic testing of appliances
• Respond to emergency situations within the home
