Job summary

St Philip's Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support the day to day running of our busy Residential Care Home. You will report to the Care Centre Manager and carry out fabric maintenance, ensure safety and functionality of the home, and help keep grounds well presented.

The role requires a flexible approach, ability to prioritise tasks, and a good DIY skillset. You will also liaise with outside agencies and help maintain health and safety records.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
• High standard of DIY, interior and exterior decoration.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance across the home.
• Keep the home in good decorative order at all times.
• Maintain tidy external areas and grounds for a smart appearance.
• Supervise external contractors visiting site.
• Monitor energy consumption and maintain written records to control costs.
• Upkeep health and safety records and test appliances and items.
• Respond to emergencies within the home.
