Job summary

St Philips Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative Bank for Alma McFadyen Care Centre. Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, you will maintain the fabric of the building, its services and grounds to keep the home safe, efficient and functional.

The role covers general maintenance, cosmetic upkeep, supervising external contractors, monitoring energy use and keeping health and safety records. A flexible approach and ability to prioritise work are essential.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to work.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• High standard of DIY including internal and external decoration.
• Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies
• Understanding of heating systems
• Basic understanding of electrical appliances
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance as required throughout the home.
• Ensure the home is in good decorative order at all times.
• Maintain external areas and grounds, ensuring smart appearance.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Monitor energy consumption and maintain written records.
• Upkeep health and safety records and periodic testing of appliances.
• Respond to emergency situations within the home.
