Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Head of Maintenance for one of its care homes in the UK. You will lead the maintenance team, ensure a clean, well-maintained environment for residents and staff, and coordinate repairs across buildings and grounds.

You’ll work hands-on, manage budgets with the General Manager, liaise with contractors, and drive a culture of safety and service. A trade_skill background and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience of property maintenance and at least one trade skill.
• Full UK driving licence; IT literacy; GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team and manage day-to-day building and grounds upkeep.
• Support the General Manager with annual budget planning and cost control.
• Liaise with contractors on jobs outside the team’s expertise to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure work is carried out safely and with residents’ needs in mind.
