Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is looking for a Head of Maintenance at one of our care homes to keep the environment safe, clean and welcoming for residents and staff. You will lead the maintenance team and coordinate with external contractors to ensure timely, quality work.

You will manage day-to-day tasks across the building and grounds, contribute to annual budget planning, and ensure compliance. A full UK driving licence and hands-on trade skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least one trade skill is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• IT literacy is required for basic reporting and records.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming care home environment.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on annual budget planning and cost control.
• Liaise with external contractors for work beyond the team’s scope.
• Carry out or supervise routine maintenance tasks across building and grounds.
