Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Head of Maintenance to lead the maintenance team across our care home facilities. You’ll ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents while supporting the General Manager with budgeting and contractor oversight.

You’ll manage hands-on maintenance tasks, garden works, and liaise with external contractors. The role requires a trade skill, driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English, with flexibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on property maintenance experience across building and grounds.
• Demonstrates reliability and flexibility in working hours.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team within the care home and support the General Manager with budgeting.
• Liaise with contractors for specialised works and ensure timely completion.
