Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking a Chef / Cook to organise and control the efficient production of quality meals within budget while upholding high cleanliness standards in line with regulations.

You will prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, accommodate dietary needs, and liaise with the Home Manager on menus and costs. The role also involves staff rota planning, training, and ensuring health and safety in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706-1/2 or working towards.
• Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate required.
• Good communication skills and team orientation.
• Ability to work on own initiative; reliable and proactive.
• Satisfactory police check and POVA list checks where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, within budget and standards.
• Accommodate dietary requirements and client preferences.
• Liaise with Home Manager to plan/cost menus and optimise use of fresh foods.
• Organise staff rota for Kitchen and supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure health and safety policies, hygiene procedures, and training are followed.
• Maintain stock records, rotate stock, and report issues to management.
• Assist in recruitment and staff development as required.
