Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to organise and control efficient, economical production of quality meals within budget while maintaining high cleanliness standards in line with EHO regulations.

Responsibilities include food preparation, menu planning with the Home Manager, staff rota administration, and enforcing health and safety policies. Training and progression opportunities are offered in a supportive care-centred environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706 - 1 & 2 qualification or working towards
• Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate
• Good communication skills
• Team player
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List check where applicable

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals; provide for special dietary requirements.
• Liaise with Home Manager to plan and cost menus for nutritious diet; participate in staff and client meetings.
• Maintain records of supplies, temperatures, stock rotation, and deliveries; value stocks.
• Prepare staff rota for Kitchen; interview for new staff with Home Manager according to Recruitment policy.
• Supervise kitchen staff; conduct basic food hygiene training; attend mandatory training days.
• Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas; maintain cleanliness and safe storage; report hazards.
• Promote confidentiality and a positive profile within the local community; adhere to company policies.
