Job summary

Hill Care is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef in preparing and serving meals, while upholding high hygiene standards within the care centre.

This 22.5-hour-per-week role requires City & Guilds level qualifications or equivalent, Basic Food Hygiene, and strong communication with staff and clients. You will assist with menu costing, stock control, and ensuring safe food handling, reporting to the Home Manager and taking initiative as needed.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706-1 & 2 or equivalent qualification.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Good communication, team player and able to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals as required.
• Assist in planning and costing menus for a balanced diet.
• Maintain records of stock, temperatures and shelf-life.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure hygiene procedures are followed.
• Attend mandatory training and promote safety policies.
• Adhere to all policies and confidentiality of information.
