Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the team. You will assist the cook with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals for residents, including those on special diets. The role emphasizes reliability, care, and adherence to health and safety standards within the care centre.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, attending training, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Experience in a care environment is advantageous; a Food Safety Level 2 certificate or willingness to work

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player.
• Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable).
• Experience of food preparation for the relevant Client group.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
• Wash up after meals and ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy.
• Report health and safety issues to the Home Manager.
