Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking a Chef / Cook to organise and control the efficient production of quality food within budget while upholding high cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with EHO regulations.

The role requires City & Guilds 706-1 & 2 or equivalent, Basic Food/Hygiene Certificate, good communication, team spirit, and initiative. Supervisory experience and police checks may be requested.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706-1 & 2 or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards).
• Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate required.
• Good communication skills and a team player are essential.
• Ability to work on own initiative and pass a police check if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as needed.
• Accommodate dietary requirements and client preferences.
• Plan/cost menus with the Home Manager to provide balanced, nutritious meals.
• Arrange staff and client meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and temperatures.
• Order stocks, check deliveries and value stock as needed.
• Prepare staff rota for kitchen and interview new staff with Home Manager.
• Supervise kitchen staff and conduct basic food hygiene training.
