Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to support the cook with meal preparation, cooking and serving for residents. You will help ensure freshly prepared meals meet high standards and accommodate special diets, with training provided.

Ideal candidates have basic food hygiene, good communication, and a team-oriented mindset, plus a willingness to work towards relevant certifications and to undergo police checks as required.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Team player with a caring approach.
• Satisfactory Police Check and confirm against the POVA List (where applicable).
• Desirable: experience with food preparation for the relevant client group.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as required.
• Wash up after meals and keep kitchen and dining areas clean.
• Ensure Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Report illnesses or accidents to the Home Manager promptly.
• Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre.
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within defined timescales.
