Job summary

Newlands Care Home in Heaton Moor, Stockport, is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support residents with daily living, personal care and wellbeing within a welcoming team.

You will follow care plans, assist with mobility and nutrition, and contribute to dignified, respectful care. Training and ongoing development are provided, with a friendly, person-centred environment encouraging growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Reliable and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 desirable or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living assistance including personal care and mobility.
• Support nutrition and emotional wellbeing of residents.
• Follow care plans, monitor changes in condition and report them.
• Contribute to a safe, responsive and consistent care environment.
• Work as part of a supportive team to create a warm atmosphere.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.45 - £13.95 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing. You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.
