Job summary

Choices Homecare, part of the Optimo Care Group, is hiring Care Assistants to support clients across the Barnsley region. The role offers flexible full-time and part-time hours, with a mileage allowance and 30p per mile between client visits.

You will deliver compassionate personal care, help with meals, support daily living tasks and maintain accurate records. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for some routes; training is provided and career progression is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in care is welcome but not essential.
• Must be able to work with clients in community/home settings.
• Able to commit to 16+ hours per week.
• Full training provided may be offered.

Responsibilities

• Support people with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with medication administration and accurate documentation
• Prepare meals and support with eating and drinking when needed
• Encourage independence and support daily living tasks
• Build positive relationships with service users and families
• Support emotional wellbeing and identify changes in behaviour or needs
• Keep accurate records and communicate with colleagues and supervisors
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
• Respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries

Rate of Pay: £13.65 per hour

Flexible full-time and part-time hours available

What To Expect In This Role

• Care is delivered 7 days a week between 07:00 and 23:00
• We ask for a minimum of 16 hours per week

Every Other Weekend Availability Is Required

This role is paid for care delivery time, with mileage reimbursed between calls at 30p per mile
