The role

As a Care and Maintenance Project Manager, you’ll lead a critical programme that supports the UK’s submarine capability - a role that truly makes a difference to national security. This is an opportunity to influence outcomes that matter, while advancing your career in a dynamic and highly respected sector.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for building and developing an integrated Project Delivery team that works together to ensure project success.

  • Leading and coaching a multi-disciplined Project team to deliver against key milestones
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
  • Developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress
  • Overseeing budgets, resources and subcontractor performance
  • Driving effective risk, change and issue management across the project lifecycle

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

  • Proven leadership and team coaching experience

  • Expertise in APM competencies: schedule, risk, change control, budgeting
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation
Qualifications for the Care and Maintenance Project Manager
  • APM Project Risk Management Level 2 (preferable)
  • APM Chartered Professional (ChPP) or Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
