Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Cardiology Diagnostic Booking Coordinator for a fixed-term 12-month maternity cover within the Cardiology diagnostics service. The role may lead to a permanent position depending on future service needs.

You will handle patient enquiries, book diagnostic appointments and provide frontline administrative support with accuracy. The post requires good communication, a flexible and team-orientated approach, and initiative.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable administrative experience
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience of working in a public sector/NHS
• Experience of hospital systems namely Medway; CED; ICE

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive administrative support to the diagnostics service within the Cardiology service, providing a high standard of front line customer care and a lead point of contact for patients regarding complaints and queries, always displaying empathy and diplomacy.
• Deal with patient enquiries, booking diagnostic appointments and administrative tasks where accuracy is essential.
• Work alongside the diagnostic booking team lead to provide effective and efficient clerical support to the Cardiology diagnostic service and to the physiologists.
• Provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the physiologists working within the community.

Demonstrable administrative experience

Good Knowledge of Microsoft Word and X

Experience of working in a public and/

Experience of hospital systems namely

Education

5 GCSEs or equivalent

Admin NVQ level
