Job description

We’re looking for two Capital Operations Managers to join Thames Water on a permanent basis, one for London and one for Thames Valley & Home Counties.

36 hours per week - Monday to Friday.

This is a hybrid role with a negotiable base location. It requires travel throughout the Thames Water Region, with 2-3 days per week at Thames Water sites to engage with the team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital programmes and operational projects across Water Production and Water Networks in your assigned region.
• Manage, prioritize, and mitigate regional risks from project initiation to commissioning and handover, ensuring risks are logged and managed effectively.
• Collaborate with system planning to identify investment gaps and develop proposals for consideration.
• Support large capital schemes as the operational representative, ensuring successful delivery and outcomes.
• Engage and coordinate operational input into the AMP delivery programme.
• Ensure sustainable outcomes, developing and implementing solutions that deliver benefits across the AMP.
• Oversee delivery of all capital works, communicating updates and aligning project dependencies with governance frameworks.
• Lead a team of up to 30 people, with 5-10 direct reports.

Requirements

• Experience in construction or industrial fields.
• Proven project and programme management skills with a focus on operational and technical objectives.
• Experience managing budgets and delivering business outcomes.
• Ability to analyze and communicate data effectively.
• Experience building and managing teams, developing procedures.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-starting, resilient, with a full UK driving license.
