Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Operations Manager to join our team at Barnet Federation.

Working closely with the current management team and Federation board members, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the service and oversee clinical teams, management, and staff to meet service KPIs and standards, while driving quality improvements for patients and maintaining high-quality services.

You will be responsible for operational management and leadership of a designated service portfolio and associated budget, including services such as Extended Access, Anti-Coagulation, SMI Health Checks, Spirometry, and Smoking Cessation.

The role is currently remote, with a possibility of establishing an office in Barnet.

Main duties of the job
  1. Lead service redesign to maximize patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
  2. Manage the budget, achieve performance and cultural targets, and ensure compliance with governance policies and standards.
  3. Prepare and present reports to committees and the Federation Board on compliance, performance, and risk management.
  4. Contribute to the development of Federation strategies, business, and service plans.
  5. Build relationships with stakeholders including Practice Managers, GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists, and partners like the Local Authority and ICB.
  6. Lead and manage senior clinical and management teams, ensuring staffing levels and recruitment are timely.
  7. Act as deputy for the General Manager and Medical Director when required.
