Job description
About the role:

A career within Capital Markets will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You’ll tackle your client’s needs with a solution oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions, and you’ll have significant interaction with senior company management teams, bankers, lawyers, and other advisers. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different types of transactions and workstreams with high profile clients across a range of industries. Our Capital Markets team works on some of the highest profile deals in the market. We pride ourselves on our inclusive culture and the importance we place on wellbeing and development. This is underpinned by a blend of home/office working. We are a supportive and collaborative team and empower and trust our people to work independently but with coaching and guidance as needed. Consultation is a core part of our culture, and our partners and directors work closely with more junior team members to share knowledge and experiences.

What your days will look like:
  • Writing and reviewing financial assurance/diligence reports and reviewing comfort letters and transaction documents (e.g. prospectuses, shareholder circulars and offering memorandums) for our clients. Identifying critical risks and working as part of a team to address them;
  • Interaction with client management and exposure to business owners to assure information in transaction documents and understand areas such as financial reporting processes, historical and projected business performance, and wider commercial issues;
  • Managing teams on a variety of engagements, taking ownership of all aspects of delivery, programme and team management, monitoring commercial performance and quality; and
  • Leading on complex accounting issues associated with capital markets transactions under either IFRS or US GAAP, including GAAP conversions.
This role is for you if:
  • Must possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS / US CPA qualification (or an international equivalent);
  • Experience with US SEC reporting, including PCAOB auditing standards and US GAAP is highly desirable;
  • Strong team management ability, including managing teams, coaching, sharing knowledge and collaborating with others, as well as contributing to a positive team spirit;
  • Strong project management skills and experience in dealing with changing deadlines. An ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing work environment with evolving demands;
  • Track record of performing high quality work and exhibiting close attention to detail, whilst assimilating information quickly and dealing with ambiguity in a time sensitive environment; and
  • Ability to navigate, understand and apply the relevant capital market rules and regulations applicable in the UK and/or US.
What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
