CAMHS Enhanced Clinical Practitioner

The closing date is 02 October 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enhanced Clinical Practitioner to join our specialist community Child & Adolescent Mental Health team at Poole CAMHS.

We are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm, and someone who believes, like we do, that working with young people and their families is one of the most effective early interventions within mental health care.

As an integral member of the management team, you will have strong, demonstrable clinical experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families.

The service is entering an exciting period of growth, with new investments and initiatives underway. This role will evolve alongside the development of our service; initially, you may support existing teams while new structures are implemented. All positions are pan-Dorset and will involve having a temporary base during the transitional phase. As our service develops, some roles may involve working flexibly within extended hours to reflect our commitment to being there at the moments that count most. This is more than just a role - itfs a chance to help shape a growing service and be part of something that really matters. We are looking for compassionate, adaptable and positive individuals who are inspired by the idea of making a genuine difference and who want to help shape the future of care in our community.

Main duties of the job

The ECP will have strong, demonstrable clinical experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families. The post holder will work cohesively alongside the Team Leaders, Clinical Lead and Clinical Service Manager and other ECP in providing robust clinical leadership, supporting the team with complex cases, hold a caseload within their sphere of professional and clinical competence, contribute to multi-agency meetings by providing expert clinical input and promoting the role of CAMHS. The post holder will provide inspirational clinical leadership to the team, promoting positive outcomes for the young people of Dorset by ensuring that the service provides high quality interventions and offering.

The post holders will hold a registered core profession and have additional post graduate training or relevant experience. You will be responsible for case discussions and decisions, supervision of staff, screening referrals into the service and provide inspirational clinical leadership to the team.
