Job summary

Thomas Franks in Cambridge is seeking a Sous Chef for a Monday to Friday operation serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to about 100 daily. The role covers food preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards in a busy kitchen.

The contract is full-time and permanent with a salary of £36,000 per annum and 40 hours per week. The team values reliability, teamwork and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Teamwork abilities and effective communication.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Flexible and reliable with a can-do attitude.
• Food hygiene certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all Food service areas for the day's business relating to that meal service.
• Ensure prompt service of all meals to company/client standards.
• Ensure methods of preparation and presentation meet company expectations.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away food, beverages or equipment.
• Prepare all food for sale following hygiene and safety practices.
• Restock and replenish stocks during service to meet customer needs.
• Keep Front of House informed of stock shortages and delays.
• Complete cleaning/hygiene duties as required.
• Serve customers, visitors and guests to service standards.
• Dispose of rubbish and recycle appropriately.
• Assist in placing orders and stock movements.
• Ensure kitchen areas comply with health & safety regs.
• Leave kitchen clean at end of shift.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Notify head chef of stock movements for forthcoming menus.
