Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Tonbridge, Kent, invites applications for a creative and effective Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious independent school location. The role is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, in a busy school kitchen serving snacks and lunch to students and staff.

The successful candidate will manage daily operations, ensure meals are prepared to the highest standards, uphold hygiene and food safety, and support service during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and communication in a kitchen environment.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in customer and/or food preparation environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food service areas for the day’s meals.
• Ensure prompt service to company and client standards.
• Maintain hygiene and safety in preparation and service areas.
• Restock and replenish stocks during service periods.
• Ensure kitchen and service areas are clean at end of shift.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
