Overview

A Vacancy at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Call Handler / Receptionist to join our busy admin hub, supporting clinical services in the Rotherham Care Group, who want to participate and contribute to achieving excellent quality of care for our patients. We provide frontline mental health services in the community.

In return for this commitment we will support and develop your potential and skills through regular supervision and development in this busy role within our friendly Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential, quality administration and telephone service.
  • Act as first point of contact for service users and other professionals, offering excellent customer service.
  • Handle large volumes of telephone calls, including challenging and emotive conversations.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, adapting to varying demands and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of SystmOne would be a distinct advantage.
  • Travel between various locations as required.
  • Support the team with general administrative duties.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Good standard of education (5 GCSEs including Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent).
  • Experience of working in a call handling environment or previous experience within the NHS.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to deal calmly, politely and professionally with people at all levels, including service users and relatives.
  • Empathetic nature and ability to display tact and diplomacy in difficult circumstances.
  • High standard of word processing skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Apprenticeship Opportunity

If you do not already hold a Level 2 qualification, RDaSH offers this post alongside the opportunity to complete a Level 2 apprenticeship qualification relevant to your role. Approximately 20% of working hours will be spent on training or studying, leading to a nationally recognisable qualification.
