Job summary

Tesco Café is seeking a Team Leader to drive smooth daily operations with a strong focus on customer service. You’ll support the Cafe Manager, coach colleagues, and help meet business goals while upholding health and safety standards.

You’ll work in a fast-paced cafe environment across Tesco’s nationwide cafés, with opportunities for development, flexible working options, and an inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or food-service environments.
• Previous Team/Shift Leader responsibility or supervision.
• Strong customer-service focus with people skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication; able to train others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain smooth cafe operations and uphold safety standards.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
• Lead by example to deliver excellent customer experiences.
• Open/close cafe and oversee activities in Manager's absence.
• Recognise and celebrate strong service from colleagues.
• Learn menu inside-out and coach the team accordingly.
• Support manager with coaching and development of staff.
• Identify ways to improve customer service continually.
