Job summary

Tesco Café is seeking a Team Leader to join our busy cafés. You will help run daily operations, coach team members, and ensure top-notch customer service within a friendly, fast-paced environment.

With a focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, you will open/close shifts, manage the team in the Manager’s absence, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Tesco values. We encourage development and flexible working where possible.

Qualifications

• Background in hospitality with Team/Shift Leader experience.
• Passion for excellent customer service.
• Health & Safety and Food Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational and safety standards to run the cafe smoothly.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are followed.
• Lead by example by delivering excellent customer service.
• Open and close the cafe and oversee operations in the Manager’s absence.
• Recognise and celebrate team members for service excellence.
• Learn the menu and help the team to do the same.
• Boost sales by optimal staff placement.
• Deliver Health & Safety and Food Safety training.
• Support the Café Manager with coaching and development.
• Seek ways to improve service for customers.
• Promote an inclusive environment where colleagues feel respected and safe.
