Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Team Leader for one of its Cafés to support the Manager, coach team members and deliver an outstanding customer experience in a fast-paced, friendly environment. You’ll help run daily operations, ensure safety and food hygiene standards, and lead by example with a focus on excellent service.

The role emphasizes flexible working options, development and training tailored to you, and clear opportunities to progress within our nationwide Tesco Café network.

Qualifications

• Hospitality background with team leadership experience.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of health and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational and safety standards to ensure smooth café running.
• Lead by example and deliver excellent customer service.
• Open and close the café and oversee full operations in the Manager’s absence.
• Recognise and celebrate team members for great service.
• Learn the menu inside out and train the team accordingly.
• Help boost sales by staffing appropriately and ensuring optimal coverage.
• Deliver Health & Safety and Food Safety training for the team.
• Support the Café Manager with coaching and development of colleagues.
• Seek continuous service improvements for customers.
• Promote an inclusive environment where all colleagues feel valued and safe.
