Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Experience with agricultural clients is preferred but not essential.
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion.

A prestigious Accountancy Practice is looking for an experienced Business Services Manager to join a busy, supportive team that works with small and medium-sized businesses across a variety of sectors. This role offers the chance to focus on agricultural clients while working on a wide range of accounting, tax, and advisory projects. Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation and review of accounts and tax returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Manage and report on management accounts, budgets, and engagement profitability
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, including reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback
  • Support clients in setting up and maintaining accounting systems and processes
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as the main point of contact on engagements
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including building relationships with referrers and attending professional events
  • Balance multiple projects effectively, both individually and as part of a team, in the office and at client sites
Personal Requirements
  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Comfortable working with limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Experience with agricultural clients is preferred but not essential
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office; experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or CCH software advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Professional, tenacious, and self-motivated with strong technical knowledge
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
