Blue Legal are partnering with a leading global law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Specialist to join their London office. The role involves supporting the Finance, Business Restructuring, and Real Estate practices, driving business development initiatives in the infrastructure sector across London and Europe, and collaborates with global teams to advance strategic goals and enhance market visibility.

The Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing business and client development plans, including infrastructure initiatives, while supporting budget planning, expense tracking, and internal reporting.
  • Prepare tailored pitches, proposals, and capability statements in collaboration with global BD teams, ensuring accuracy and relevance through research and content development.
  • Coordinate internal BD and client meetings, manage agendas and follow-ups, and monitor market trends to support client engagement and strategic initiatives.
  • Support client relationship plans, track BD activity for reporting and pitching, and identify collaboration opportunities with UK and US BD teams.
  • Collaborate with the research team to deliver customised market intelligence for partners and clients.
  • Maintain and update go-to-market content such as presentations, bios, brochures, and deal records in collaboration with lawyers and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the creation of thought leadership content and manage submissions to legal directories, league tables, and award panels.
  • Assist in planning and executing industry events, conferences, and sponsorships, while supporting broader BD projects across London, Europe, and global teams.
The Candidate:
  • University graduate with a strong academic record and at least three years’ business development or client development experience in a professional services environment; law firm experience and relevant BD/marketing qualifications (e.g., CIM) are a plus.
  • Understanding of Finance, Business Restructuring, Real Estate (if applicable), and infrastructure sectors
  • Strong communication, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills; highly organised with excellent project management capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, adaptable team player with a client-focused, solution-oriented mindset, critical thinking abilities, and proficiency in key software tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, InterAction).
