Business Development Manager - Operating Theatre Solutions/Digital Health

Location: Field Based, North UK

Getinge are excited to be recruiting for a newly created role, to join our UKI team as a Business Development Manager for the North UK, responsible for driving sustainable growth across the Surgical Workplaces (Operating Lights and Pendants) and Digital Healthcare Solutions (Tegris and Torin) portfolios, by securing new business, retaining existing customers, and expanding partnership opportunities within Getinge’s Healthcare structure.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets set for the territory by developing winning and repeatable sales strategies.
  • Drive sales growth for the Surgical Workflows (Operating Lights & Pendants) & Digital Healthcare Solutions (Tegris & Torin), with a strong awareness for total Healthcare portfolio opportunities and products.
  • Identify alternative Resellers to drive sales growth within Surgical Workflows (Operating Lights & Pendants) & Digital Healthcare Solutions (Tegris & Torin),
  • Achieve sales plan through the management and closure of Operating Theatre opportunities and projects
  • Accurately forecast sales and demand within responsible region, aligning activities with National Sales Manager – Surgical Workplaces (UK) and Regional Sales Manager (Ireland)
  • Ongoing analysis & tracking of market trends & competitor activity.
  • Negotiate pricing and business proposals directly with the customer once approved by your Line Manager.
  • Provide up to date monthly forecasts for the Sector to line manager.
  • Responsible for the preparation of proposals / quotations / tenders for customers within given timescales.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate smooth implementation - from tender inception / award to handover, ensuring enhanced customer experience.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation of Getinge products in partnership with the Projects / Installation teams
  • Regularly analyse, track and report on your accounts to your manager seeking opportunities to improve performance.
  • Work closely with marketing to share market insights and input into clinical and business support strategies that can be leveraged nationally.
  • Develop clear communication channels with all the stakeholders and facilitate progress updates.
  • Maintain full commercial involvement and serve as primary contact throughout project lifecycle.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Strong knowledge of NHS, HSE, Private Hospital Groups Procurement strategies
  • Product Industry Experience within Digital Health
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Device Contracting / Working with Sales Partners / Resellers
  • A proven track record in delivering sales and Customer Services in the Healthcare or Medical Diagnostics industry, to a high standard.
  • Strong Communicator - Experience of communicating with impact at multiple levels within an organisation, via multiple channels.
  • Demonstrable strategic and lateral thinking and ability to devise strategic plans for Cath lab, Hybrid and operating room builds.
  • Organised, precise, used to hosting meetings and has soft negotiation skills.
  • Independent Worker with the ability to manage their own time to deliver goals.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills (English)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Curious and inquisitive; driven to enhance service delivery by learning about the Getinge Healthcare portfolio.
  • Consultative, solution focused sales approach
  • Strong pre-sales and commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrable confidence when dealing with uncertainty and the ability to challenge effectively.
  • Experience in negotiating IT / SaaS Solutions
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change, and adjust sales approach techniques to customer needs and environment.
